Hi, I'm Dan and I make videos to show how I take care of my reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. I hope these videos can provide useful information on basic care of these animals as well as some in depth information on their individual requirements. Please leave me a message if you have any questions and I will endeavour to answer them to the best of my abilities.
REPTILE KEEPING- LIMITATIONS

TARANTULA THROWS MOULT
Переглядів 2,3 тис.4 роки тому
My P. irminia, Helios, decided to carry her moult to the top of her enclosure and launch. Think that might be a sign that she wants me to take it out! I thought she was stuck in her moult at first and had a bit of a panic. But no, she just felt like launching it! To see more of my animal, join me on Instagram: jensensreptiles

DISCLAIMER: We in no way recommend keeping a group of all males of this species. A preferred ratio is one male to every three females. We will continue to observe behaviours and act accordingly to do right by the animals. If you have any questions, please drop them in the comments below.

Getting 4 soon and this helped me figure out the setup. Tysm
Thank you ❤ really, you my Hero now
Thank you! This helped a lot.
❤
I love how he just made out with it first haha. About to feed my corn her first fuzzy
So you CAN keep this T in completely dry terarium with just water bowl, right?
Zoidberg??? Love it, Named mine Clamps.
What a beauty!
Why is the water on the hot side?
its so good to see a care guide where people arent reccomenind you just put a fully grown boa in a 4x2x2 with a heat mat. i appreciate this video a lot!
Thanks!
How often do you have to clean it out?what size heat mat do you use?
This setup is not ideal because they will just hide and can't be fed properly.
In the years and years of keeping him, we never had a problem. He roamed every night and ate without issue. He had a very good life in this enclosure
always thought about a pure bamboo enclore, looks pretty cool and i love how the mantis blends in so well
Looks like a setup for a high humidity dependant spider to me and not for a smithi..
Yeah, you’re right. I addressed this in a few videos I’ve made over the last 10 years 😁 was learning!
why don't you recommend aquariums?
Great question - I have a few reasons. 1. Aquariums don’t have good cross ventilation. The only air transfer happens at the top of the enclosure. Which is great for water, but not ideal for an animal that lives at the bottom of a dry aquarium. I prefer front to back and side to side ventilation for better oxygen transfer. 2. They’re inefficient to heat. Warm air rises and aquariums typically have mesh lids. That means warm air is lost at a faster rate, meaning my electrics need to work harder to heat the enclosure. No thanks! A way to overcome this is by covering a section of the lid but this affects air transfer even more. 3. For handling, I prefer for my animals to be able to come towards me rather than scooping them up from above. A lot of the animals I keep are prey animals and have prey mentality (fear of things moving overhead in particular). I don’t like catching them off guard or scaring them, so front opening enclosures, purpose built for reptiles are my preference. I hope that helps but happy to answer more questions if you have any :)
Does it matter which way the lock is installed?
I tried one of these today. The gap between the panes was very small and the metal bar part jammed the two together requiring a lot of force to open them. Ended up chucking it in the bin
What make of vivarium is he in. Thankyou.
Can’t seem to find this product anymore 😢
Psalmopoeus irminia I have a juvenile female 🕷🕸🖤🇬🇧
Ribet enakan yg biasa
I got your sling right here 🤣
I want one of these but I'm scared asfuck of spiders lol
Where can I find that heating element at ? Website ? I love this set up 👌🏻👌🏻
thanks a lot bro i am from india.
what size is this faunariun
You didn’t happen to buy this snake as an adult did you? Looks exactly like my old snake Leeroy who I had to sell.
I got Jack aged around 2 years old from a rescue facility. Sadly he turned out to be a female and passed away due to a tear in the oviduct and internal bleeding. Incredibly sad
@@JensensReptilesaww sorry to hear that, RIP Jack.
Does this happen during the day or all night ?
They are diurnal iirc, so likely during the day.
what do you use for lighting in bioactive/planted enclosures?
specifically plant grow lights. personally, i use arcadia’s grow light strips.
hi, nice terrarium! I am planning a similar bamboo forest terrarium, but I fear that the bamboo will outgrow the terrarium quickly. How long did you keep that enclosure, did you have to prune the bamboo often, was it easy to control?
THAT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MY CORN SNAKE OMG
Great habitat and video, thanks a lot. What is the ratio of the substrate mix you use for desert bedding vs beardi life?
@jensonsreptiles...Hi there, awesome red knee set up...can you tell me what make and where did you get the fake tree from please 🤔...it looks like cholla wood which i can find in just the trunk part but not with the actual branches...thanks for any info regards Gary
How did you secure the branches and where did you find such perfectly shaped ones? This is gorgeous!
What kinda plants can I use for the enclosure?
I've been trying to decide what sort of frog or toad to put in a small tank I have sitting empty. I don't have a place to put a vertical enclosure, so more tree frogs are out. I think these little guys will be perfect, and it was that lovely chirping that helped me decide. Thanks!
Have you had any luck finding them? I’m looking for one myself!
Please share the name of the medicine
substitute link?
Wau!!!! 😮
My corn recently escaped. It was fitted with a lock. He was only 5 months. The only gap was between the glass panes.
Thank you, I was so confused 😅.
I dont think a wooden vivarium is good for asian forest,I prefer glass
We never had an issue with the wooden enclosure but each to their own! We had a spare moulded plastic enclosure and ended up moving him into that, worked a treat
How old are they in the 3ft.
i am actually thinking of placing a mini pond in my mbk's enclosure, i wonder if he will appreciate the pond?
What temperature during the day should it be
What's the best heat mat to get for this reptiview?
Any recommendations for live plants in a Asian forest Scorpion enclosure that would be safe for the scorpion?
Where do you get all the wood and bark from?
Where to place in glass showcase up , middle or down ? I mean which is the correct position for it. Another issue with this lock it keep moving up and down after installing it .
Wow he’s got some pretty patterns! His saddle spots almost touch so it looks like he’s got light spots.
